On 16th of September 2016, in a collaboration with young people from six high schools in Celje, we have successfully implemented project Youth and World Peace. Young people were creatively engaged into the contents of the program, including the painting of flags on selected topics of peace. The cultural program of the event also addresses invited guests: Stanislav Lipovsek (Celje Bishop), a representative of the Muslim religious community – Nazif Topuz, a representative of the Orthodox religious community – Zoran Šućur and bishop of the Free Catholic Church Aristid Havlicek, Bojko Bucar (president of the UN Ljubljana) and headmaster of the Gymnasium high school Celje Center – Gregor Deleja . We read the message about peace, written by the Mayor of the Municipality of Celje – Bojan Šrot. Our work and celebration was concluded with the ceremonial revealing of PEACE POLE with message: May peace prevail on Earth, which is the strongest symbol of peace, spread throughout the world. We hung the flags, which were hand made, painted and decorated with messages of peace by young people.

We believe that with the project YOUTH AND WORLD PEACE, we have all contributed to the awakening of peace consciousness, mutual tolerance, understanding and respect for the diversity of cultures and ideological beliefs, and thus we succesfully added our part to the effort’s for peace in the world and for peace in our hearts.
